Liaison Officers

Admission Liaison Officers (ALO's) perform an essential role in the process of applying for admission to the military academies. Minnesota has a dedicated, hard-working staff of Air Force ALO's.

Our USAFA ALO representative to the Parents' Club is Major Thomas H. Mattison, USAFR. Major Mattison may be reached by cell phone (612-669-5920) or e-mail: thmattison@comcast.net. Please welcome Major Mattison as our ALO.

Major Mattison graduated from Edina High in 1986, AFA 1990. His parents loved the Minnesota Parents’ Club, so he decided to be the ALO representative taking over for Mike Germain at the end of this academic year. Went through pilot training in Lubbock, Texas. Spent two years in a non-flying job as a maintenance officer. Spent six years flying C130 Hercules. Left the Air Force in 2000, joined the Air National Guard and was a pilot for Northwest. After 9/11 was furloughed by Northwest. He was deployed to the Middle East for four months. With the birth of his first child, Tom has since left the Air National Guard. Tom and his family reside in Eden Prairie.

Many thanks and our best regards to Lt. Col. Michael Germain (father of Shaun Germain, 2002). His years of service and support as the USAFA ALO rep for the Minnesota Parent's club is greatly appreciated. (Tel: 651-257-5888 and email: Deserteagle@frontiernet.net)
