Cadet News!

Text Box: C1C Lee Anderson-- Over parents weekend we stayed in a cabin in the mountains south west of Divide, about an hour from the Academy. Scott and I, and our oldest son Travis, came out a week early, and we were able to get Lee off base for dinner a few nights before parents weekend began. I nice extension for all of us. Since this was our final parents weekend and we had already seen most of the tourist attractions, we just hung out at the cabin, enjoyed the sights and wildlife, the hot tub, reading and watching movies. On Monday, after we left the cabin, we visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

C1C Jennifer Ford— Looking forward to start going skiing.

C1C Kent Reichle— Kent is co-captain of the Gymnastics team this year.

C2C Jason Boerboom--Tom and Colleen Boerboom and C2 son, cadet Jason Boerboom had an enjoyable Parents Weekend which included three rounds of golf on The Eisenhower Blue Course on the Academy grounds.  We are all looking forward to Thanksgiving which will be the first time Jason will Text Box: be home since June.
C2C Peter Dyrud—Peter’s summer sessions included being Wing Ops NCO and going to Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas, where he experienced flights in the T-38 and T-1. His parents, grandmother, uncle and cousin joined him for Parents Weekend. A highlight was a trip on the cog train up to Pike's Peak - a first for all of us. Peter recently had PRK surgery, which could lead to perfect eyesight!

C2C Chelsea Herzfeld— Chelsea is happy that C2C classes are less demanding!

C2C Josh Paschka— He’s busy with D&B OCF. Will have ground school later this term.

C2C Bridgett Whiting— Very busy Fall. Squadron Superintendant. Twenty-one credits. Getting in a little fun flying and hunting. 21st birthday!

C3C Joseph Gagner—Joe continues to enjoy being a cadet but has had a heavy class schedule. He particularly enjoys his Economics and German classes. Joe and a cadet Text Box: friend, C3C Jared Cooper, hiked the Barr trail to the summit of Pikes Peak on Columbus Day weekend with his dad, Les.
C3C Mindy Mokos--Mindy has had a busy fall traveling with the Women's Soccer team and keeping up with academics. Her grandparents took her by surprise and came to her game in St. Louis.  Mindy is looking forward to the skiing season and to Thanksgiving break so she can finally see her brand new niece!

C3C Steve Porter—Steve welcomed his dad, mom and sister, Olivia to Parent's Weekend '04. We had a BLAST! Did some mini golf with C3C Gagner, C3C Zurembo and their families! FUN! Went horseback riding with an outfit that is in the Garden of the Gods! WOW! And finally, lodged at the beautiful Cheyenne Mountain Resort which was conveniently located for easy access to and from the AFA. It comes highly recommended to any cadet or their families. We liked the discount given to AFA parents, rooms were clean & classy, refrigerator in each room, plus it was nestled in the foothills of unmatchable scenery! FABULOUS!
